Training on participation in cross-border cooperation programs Interreg Europe and URBACT

on May 14, the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region hosted a training for local government representatives on participation in the Interreg Europe and URBACT cross-border cooperation programs. The event was held in a mixed format, bringing together about 80 participants, including representatives of local communities, higher education institutions and public associations.

Participants received detailed information about the specifics of the programs, new opportunities for communities, mechanisms for forming partnerships and establishing international contacts. Tetyana Tytarchuk, representative of the Department for Coordination of International Technical Assistance of the City Council of Kyiv, presented the main aspects of project implementation under the Interreg Europe and URBACT programs.

The training was organized by the Ukrainian Institute for International Politics, and the participants were welcomed by the Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration Serhiy Kropyva.

The speakers of the training spoke in detail about the Cohesion Policy, the rules and conditions for participation in the programs, financial aspects, and the criteria for selecting partners for projects. An active discussion with the experts showed that the participants were very interested in joining the cross-border cooperation programs.

As part of the event, the Agency’s team held talks with the leadership of the Ukrainian Institute of International Policy, identifying areas for further cooperation and implementation of joint projects. The Agency is also actively working on applications for participation in the third round of Interreg Europe and has already joined two projects.

It is important for the Agency to remain a communication platform for all stakeholders, contributing to the development of Odesa region, supporting communities and improving the regional business climate.
