Odesa region adopts European experience of SafeSkills in Marseille

On April 23-24, 2026, representatives of the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region took part in a learning visit as part of the international SafeSkills project in Marseille (France).

The event brought together partners from five countries – Ukraine, France, Spain, Poland, and Finland – to share experiences in the field of security, skills development, and training in accordance with modern challenges.

The study visit combined strategic discussions and practical cases.

On the first day, the participants
  • joined the opening of the event and got acquainted with regional security policy instruments;
  • participated in a presentation of stakeholders, including representatives of educational, training and security organizations;
  • discussed approaches to educational mediation in schools in Nice as a tool for risk prevention and the development of a safety culture;
  • visited the Saint Charles station in Marseille, one of the largest transport hubs in France, which serves 16-18 million passengers annually, where approaches to ensuring security at critical infrastructure facilities were presented.
The second day was dedicated to
  • discussion of the security professional training system;
  • a roundtable discussion on cybersecurity with representatives of educational platforms and security agencies;
  • a coordination meeting of project partners and summarizing the results.
