Industrial Parks in the Odesa Region: The Foundation for Reconstruction
Industrial parks are more than just plots of land. They are about a competitive economy, new manufacturing facilities, investments, and jobs.
The team from the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region participated in the Ukrainian Construction Congress—a platform that brought together representatives of the government, business, the expert community, and development institutions to discuss key areas of Ukraine’s recovery and economic growth.
During the expert discussion titled “Industrial Parks as the Foundation for Reconstruction: Industrial Parks of the Odesa Region,” together with Valerii Kyrylko, CEO of the “Industrial Parks of Ukraine” Group, and Artur Melezhik, Head of the Department of Industrial Parks and Investment Support, key directions for the development of industrial parks in Ukraine were discussed.
The focus was on issues that directly determine the investment attractiveness of such sites:
- government policy on the development of industrial parks;
- readiness of engineering infrastructure;
- mechanisms for attracting investors;
- access to financing;
- the development of international partnerships;
- strengthening the role of communities and businesses in creating new production platforms.
Alina Samuseva, head of the Office of European Integration at the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region, presented the potential of industrial parks in the Odesa region and outlined the key challenges that currently require systematic solutions: ensuring infrastructure readiness, identifying financial instruments, engaging international partners, and creating conditions for the arrival of competitive manufacturing enterprises.
Every challenge is also an opportunity for development.
The Agency helps communities turn ideas into ready-to-go investment projects and transform industrial parks into effective business platforms. The Agency works to develop investment proposals, attract international expertise, build partnerships, identify financing opportunities, and showcase the potential of the Odesa region to investors.
The Agency’s goal is for industrial parks to become hubs of economic growth in the region: places where manufacturing is established, new jobs are created, communities thrive, and a modern industrial economy takes shape.
