Reform of specialised senior secondary school
The team of the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region joined the workshop “Reform of Specialised Senior Secondary Schools: Opportunities and Challenges for Communities” organized by the Swiss-Ukrainian project DECIDE.
The event was a key event in the framework of the working visit of Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Nadiya Kuzmychova to Odesa region. The Agency was represented at the event by Olena Ivanova, Head of the Community Relations Office.
The seminar became a working platform where a new model of a senior specialized school is being formed through dialogue, practice and joint decisions.
Community leaders, educators and representatives of district administrations worked on how to
- create a capable network of lyceums
- fill it with modern programs
- make career guidance an effective tool for students’ future
The event was particularly valuable due to its emphasis on practice. The teams of eight lyceums, which will start testing the new model on September 1, did not just discuss the reform, but developed specific management and educational solutions – from organizing the educational process to interacting with communities.
For the Agency, such formats are about the development of Odesa region communities through human capital. We are working to ensure that educational changes are synchronized with the economic needs of the territories, open up new opportunities for young people and form the basis for training competitive specialists.
