Sustainable business development in times of uncertainty

on September 12, Odesa hosted the event “Sustainable Business Development in Times of Uncertainty”, co-organized by the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region, the European Business Association and UKRSIBBANK BNP Paribas Group

The event brought together more than a hundred entrepreneurs, experts and partners to discuss the challenges facing Ukrainian business and look for ways to grow sustainably.

Serhiy Kononenko, Director of the Agency, opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, emphasizing that today business in Ukraine is not only about the economy, but also about the stability and strength of the state.

The Agency also made speeches:

  • Tetiana Uzhviy, Head of the Investment Office, who showed how industrial parks are becoming the basis of a new logistics ecosystem in Ukraine. Today, there are about 100 industrial parks in Ukraine, and they can give a second life to abandoned territories and integrate the country into global production chains.
  • Ivanna Laskuriychuk, Head of the Grants Office, spoke about the possibilities of international financing programs that allow Ukrainian businesses to develop even in wartime.

We are also grateful to the speakers who joined the event:

  • Olesia Arkhipova shared practical advice on how to build an effective strategy and organize business processes.
  • Lilia Melnichenko presented modern digital marketing tools that help businesses become more flexible and competitive.

She also emphasized the potential of Odesa region: seaports, railways, highways, airports, and proximity to the EU. All this makes our region a unique logistics hub. Five industrial parks have already been registered here.

The government also supports this area. In 2025, UAH 500 million is allocated for the development of industrial parks. This is an example of a true public-private partnership that brings results in the form of new plants, investments and jobs.

For the Agency, this is another important step in supporting entrepreneurs and developing the region. We believe that even in difficult times, it is possible to create the basis for sustainable growth and new opportunities.

The Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region receives institutional support from the Swiss-Ukrainian project “Cohesion and Regional Development of Ukraine”, the UCORD Project, which is implemented with the support of Switzerland through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, by NIRAS Sweden AB.
