Odesa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater in the Digital Dimension

The Odesa National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater presented the completed project “HERITAGE. Digital. Odesa Opera House”

The team of the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region joined the presentation of the extremely important cultural project “HERITAGE. Digital. Odesa Opera House”, implemented with the financial support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.

An initiative that combines art, cultural heritage, and modern technology was presented at the legendary Odesa National Opera House.

The goal of the project is to preserve the unique architecture and artistic heritage of the theater by creating digital content:

  • 3D laser scanning of the building,
  • a 3D virtual tour of the theater,
  • a digitized collection of the theater’s museum and exhibition complex.

This is a huge step towards the digital transformation of cultural heritage and an important contribution to the protection and promotion of one of the most valuable symbols of Odesa region.

The project will not only preserve the historical memory for future generations, but also make the theater more open, modern, and accessible to visitors from all over the world.

The Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region acts as a media partner of the project and supports the development of such initiatives that combine innovation, culture, and sustainability, as they shape the new image of the region and contribute to its sustainable development.

We thank the Odesa National Opera and the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation for implementing an important initiative that will be another step towards preserving our cultural identity in the face of today’s challenges.
