Ukraine and Moldova: New Horizons of Cooperation at the International Forum in Chisinau

on June 21, the team of the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region took part in the International Economic Forum “Reconstruction of Ukraine: The Role of the Republic of Moldova”, which took place in Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova. The Forum was organized by the Moldova-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with the Moldovan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Romanian Investors Association in the Republic of Moldova, the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie France Moldavie, and the Investment Agency of Moldova.

Head of the Agency’s Investment Office Tetiana Uzhvii took part in the panel discussion “Current economic situation in Ukraine. Energy, Infrastructure, Logistics”, where she presented an overview of the situation in Odesa region, outlined challenges and solutions, shared successful cases and spoke about business development opportunities in the region.

With the participation of specialized experts, joint projects in the fields of water and rail transport, energy, agriculture, and construction were discussed. Moldova has expressed its readiness to become a reliable hub for Ukraine’s reconstruction and to actively cooperate with foreign partners in supporting these initiatives.

The presidents of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine and Moldova, former Romanian Prime Minister Viorica Dancila, Executive Director of the Investment Agency of Moldova Natalia Bejan, and other distinguished guests addressed the participants with welcoming remarks.

The forum helped establish new contacts with business representatives from China, Romania, Moldova, the Netherlands, and France. The event also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Moldova-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
