The first international startup accelerator in the South of Ukraine has been launched in Odesa!

On August 29, the U-Nation Startup & Innovation conference was held to present the first international startup accelerator in the South of Ukraine. The event was organized in partnership with the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region and Odesa IT-family.

The conference brought together 250 people, international speakers and regional managers of large companies that successfully implement innovative technologies.

“This accelerator will become a powerful tool for the development of ionization and technology both in our region and in the country as a whole,” emphasized Serhii Kononenko, Director of the Agency, in his speech. He also added that the idea of creating the accelerator had been in the works for more than a year, and now, thanks to these efforts, conditions have been created under which startups will be able to realize their ideas, gain access to investment and international partnership.

What awaits startups?

  • 10 startups that will be included in the accelerator will receive:
  • Support from 50 mentors from Europe, the US, and Canada
  • Access to investors and the business ecosystem from around the world
  • The ability to scale their projects and enter international markets

Accelerator’s mission:

  • Integrating startups into the process of economic recovery in Ukraine.
  • Creating opportunities for generating profitable projects through a connection with local businesses.
  • Partnering with international companies to support Ukraine’s recovery.
  • Positioning startups at major international exhibitions and conferences.

The accelerator program includes 4 months of intensive offline workshops and trainings, as well as a month of final pitches to 100 international investors. Each startup will receive a personal mentor, a free workplace in a hub in the city center, and the opportunity to develop after the program.
