Successful case of the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region!

Last year, the team of the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region supported Ferry complex Orlivka LTD in developing a grant application for the project “Increasing the volume of agricultural cargo transshipment in the Orlivka river port.” The project received support under the USAID APS-ERA-003 “Building the Future of Ukrainian Logistics and Exports” competition with a budget of about UAH 17 million.

And here is the result:

The port received 3 belt loaders and 1 front loader as part of a grant from the USAID Economic Support for Ukraine Project. This equipment will be an important factor in improving the efficiency of export operations and increasing exports of Ukrainian products through the port.

Achievements:

  • Reduction of the time for loading one vessel from 72 hours to 60 hours for a volume of 6,000 tons of grain.
  • Reduction of unloading time for one truck from 30-40 minutes to 10-15 minutes.
  • Ensuring the competitiveness of transshipment services on the Danube.

Yuriy Dimchoglo, the company’s founder, and Vitaliy Nikula, Director of Orlivka River Port, emphasized the importance of this support:

“This equipment will help us to offer competitive logistics and transshipment services on the Danube, increasing our capacity and stimulating export growth from Ukraine.”

The river port now operates five belt loaders and one wheel loader, working in four shifts around the clock!

We thank all our partners and USAID for their contribution to the development of Ukraine’s infrastructure and support of exporters.

Join our mission and create success with us!
