Strategic planning training program

The Italian city of Rovereto hosted a training program on strategic planning for regional development for representatives of Ukrainian regional development agencies, pilot region’s CBAs, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine.

On the first day, the participants studied European approaches to regional and local development on the example of the province of Trento (Italy) and got acquainted with strategic planning models that work effectively in OECD member countries.

At a practical workshop on creating a development vision, participants analyzed the interconnections in their regions and developed approaches to building an effective strategy.

The Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region is represented by Olena Ivanova, Head of the Office for Work with Territorial Communities, who will strengthen the Agency’s expertise in strategic planning at the community level, which is critical for the sustainable development of the region.

For the Agency, this is another step towards strengthening the analytical capacity of the team, sharing experience with other regions of Ukraine and partners from Europe. This will allow for even better formulation of strategic development documents based on international approaches.

The training is organized by the UCORD Project in cooperation with the OECD Trento Centre for Local Development, EURADA – the European Association of Development Agencies and Trentino Sviluppo.
