Second day of SafeSkills partners meeting in Tampere
The second day of the international SafeSkills meeting in Tampere, Finland, was a busy one. The Finnish partners presented a detailed analysis of the safety situation in the municipality of Tampere and held a series of workshops with group leaders.
They discussed the key issues of the new strategic development program, analyzed the conditions and stages of its implementation. We formed a scope group, selected project managers, and agreed on communication channels and reporting formats.
The participants heard reports on the already implemented and planned security measures in Tampere. Challenges include the growing demand for security sector professionals, attracting young people and introducing additional disciplines to develop the necessary competencies. The active cooperation of the municipality with business to meet the real needs of the labor market has become a valuable experience.
We discussed the prospect of signing a memorandum of cooperation between the city of Tampere and Odesa Oblast, as well as the possibility of joining the European Forum of Safe Cities (EFUS). We expect to receive draft agreements and look forward to further joint projects involving communities and all stakeholders.
Particular attention was paid to the reports of Esa Kokkonen, Director of the Baltic Institute of Finland, and Petri Nykänen, Executive Director of Security and Safety at Business Tampere.
For Odesa region, participation in SafeSkills is a powerful step towards the development of regional security policy and human capital development through international cooperation.
