Forum for the Restoration of Odesa Region: Security. Integration. Potential

On April 28, Odesa hosted the Odesa Region Recovery Forum “Security. Integration. Potential.”, the first large-scale event in the South of Ukraine on the strategy and vision of the region’s post-war development.

The Forum was organized by the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region, the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine, Odesa Oblast State Administration, and Odesa Oblast Council of the VIIІ convocation. The event was supported by HOVERLA, a USAID/ENGAGE project in Ukraine.

Odesa region will get a completely new development path. The first step towards this was the Forum “Security. Integration. Potential” Forum, which brought together 35 speakers – representatives of state and local authorities, business, NGOs, and international organizations.

The event was held to formulate a strategic vision for the reconstruction of the Odesa region, as well as to identify priority tasks and start working on them.

KEY ISSUES DISCUSSED AT THE EVENT:

  • problems and potential of human capital
  • development of logistics and agricultural sectors
  • energy independence
  • innovative solutions in industry

The Forum will be followed by a number of other events in Odesa Oblast that will be fundamental to the development of the Regional Recovery and Development Strategy.
