Development through partnership: new opportunities for Odesa region

The final day of the study visit to Romania as part of the UCORD project was important for the Odesa region. During a meeting with the team of the Agentia pentru Dezvoltare Regionala Nord-Est, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region.

Objectives of cooperation:

  • Identification of joint activities in areas of mutual interest
  • Strengthening cooperation at the European level through cooperation with international associations
  • Development of the regional economic development system in Odesa region and the North-Eastern region of Romania.

ARD Nord-Est is an example of a successful regional development institution that has transformed from a small institution into a powerful economic driver, gaining the trust of international partners, including the European Commission. The signing of the Memorandum creates the preconditions for the implementation of joint projects in the field of cluster development, smart specializations, training centers, and educational programs on European integration.

The partnership with ARD Nord-Est opens the way to closer cooperation with European associations, such as EURADA, and strengthening of interaction with regional stakeholders.

We are inspired by the example and return to Ukraine with new knowledge and prospects for the development of the Odesa Oblast!
