Odesa region expands international partnership for craft business development

Recently, the Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region has won a small grant competition with the proposal “Craft Potential of Odesa Region: The Way to Growth.” The initiative is being implemented within the framework of the international project “Transformative Recovery for Human Security in Ukraine” funded by the Government of Japan and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

What is important?

After winning the grant, a meeting of the Agency’s Supervisory Board was held, which approved participation in the program and gave the green light for the project.

The main areas of the program:

  • Support and development of craft business in the communities of Odesa region as part of the training program “Craft Workshop of Odesa Region”
  • Strengthening economic capacity through advisory support for community professionals responsible for the economic environment and entrepreneurship

Expected results:

  • involvement of vulnerable categories of the population in entrepreneurship;
  • use of internal resources of Odesa region;
  • development of the local business environment;
  • improved access to financing, marketing, certification and management of food production;
  • creation of new jobs;
  • attracting support and investment from external partners.

We are confident that the development of craft production using proprietary technologies will stimulate economic growth in Odesa region and contribute to the sustainable development of the region.

The Agency remains a platform for business support, community development and investment attraction.
