History of local business

Valesto (Yugfood LLC) is an example of a manufacturing business from the Odesa region that combines quality, innovation and export potential. Founded in Odesa, the company was the first in Ukraine to launch an automated line for the production of phyllo dough and products based on it. Today, Valesto’s products, such as rolls, strudels, pancakes, Balkan pies and other semi-finished products, are exported to 15 countries: USA, Germany, Azerbaijan, Israel, Poland, and others.

Why is it important for the region?

Companies like Valesto:

  • create jobs with decent pay
  • export products, bringing foreign currency to the region
  • introduce modern technologies into the food industry
  • strengthen the local brand, showing the world that there are European-level production facilities in Odesa region

Why does the Agency support such enterprises?

The development of small and medium-sized businesses focused on foreign markets is the key to the region’s economic sustainability. Such businesses not only provide tax revenues, but also become growth points around which a new economy is formed: with investments, innovations and new competencies.

The Agency cooperates with Valesto systematically, in particular:

  • helped the company receive a large grant for equipment modernization;
  • introduces the company’s activities to foreign business delegations during their visits;
  • facilitates the establishment of possible partnerships.

Valesto is not an exception, but a benchmark for others. We want to see more stories like this. We want businesses to have support, to see the future and not be afraid to invest in quality, people, and new markets.
