EUroBRIDGE_UA_MD in Chisinau
On November 5, an offline meeting of the EUroBRIDGE_UA_MD project partners took place in Chisinau, bringing together almost 100 participants from Ukraine, Moldova, and Romania.
Odesa region was represented:
- Regional Development Agency of Odesa Region
- Department of International Cooperation and Protocol of the Odesa Regional State Administration
- representatives of communities and businesses in the region
The Agency, as the project coordinator, presented the work program, management mechanism, and key stages of implementation.
In their speeches, Julda Kielyte (EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova) and Jozef Michálek (DG REGIO, European Commission) emphasized the importance of the project:
“EUroBRIDGE_UA_MD is a test of our readiness to work according to EU standards at the regional level. It is not only about funding, but also about the ability to build institutional capacity, partnerships, and sustainable solutions.
The project plans to
- formation of the Steering Committee
- launching two competitive grant programs with funding from EUR 10,000 to EUR 50,000 for cross-border initiatives
- establishment of an SME Support Center
- formation of a joint Pool of Experts of Ukraine-Moldova-Romania
Ukraine and Moldova are moving together on the path of European integration. And it is the regions that are now showing that they are capable of implementing European approaches not in words but in practice.
The project is funded by the European Union.
