Since 1946, the Palariiev family has been living and developing winemaking traditions in the Moldovan village of Frumushika Nova. In the spring of that year, residents of Frumushika Nova and five neighboring villages were forced to leave their homes due to the Soviet government’s conversion of these territories into military training grounds.

In the summer of 2006, Oleksandr Palariiev began construction of the Frumushika-Nova Center for Ethnographic, Rural Green Tourism and Family Recreation on the site of the former military training ground and previously destroyed villages, reviving the historical traditions of family crafts.

Today, the modern family-run winery Frumushika-Nova produces over 35,000 bottles of wine a year.
